It was a cold dark fall night on highway 99 somewhere outside of Bakersfield. #533 was on a big adventure in a Yakama box and it knew it was traveling inland far from its natural habitat close to the ocean. It had to make a decision, travel through the central valley of California or make a break for it. It decided to jump, not realizing that there was nothing but asphalt and cars instead of the cool ocean water and other boards around like it was expecting. It bounced off the road and ran over at least once. After a few miles down the road the board mule that was transporting the board realized what had happened (names withheld to protect the innocent or guilty 😂). After retracing the miles the mule has traveled, 533 was found a little battered and bruised. Not willing to give in 533 fought on and made it back the the shop where it was born for some much needed TLC. It has been saved from the landfill and will once again return to the ocean where it belongs.  New left side rails and new tail pieces. @sterling_stires @nickmillward_ #roninbodyboads

Sad to say leash cuff damage has done another one of my boards in. I have to swim a lot at my local beach break and I arm paddle 80% of the time and that consistent motion damages the one rail/side of my board. I will figure out how to make a leash cuff that doesn't wreck the rail of my boards. Short-Long-Short stringers. My past few boards for cold water here at home have been this stringer set-up. Single stringer flex in the nose and a triple stringer stiffness in the tail when you sit back on it. I like it. Second is the stepped deck contours and channels. I really like the stepped deck contours on 212 and #420 . The extra volume in the center part or the board is exactly where it needs to be and helps with paddling to get outside and helps catching waves. Having the deck surface step down or thin out by 1/8" helps keep the rails thinner so they feel better in my hands. 2 1/4" thick in the center and 2 1/8" at the rails. Ghost stamps are stamps without any color. They are there if you look close. The "Ghost Trooper" is a welcome addition to my quiver See you in the water! JB #newboardstoke
